Organic Ceremonial Matcha
Organic Ceremonial Matcha
Our matcha is meticulously sourced from a distinguished farm in Kagoshima, Japan. It is known for its dedication to organic and traditional agriculture since 1935. After carefully comparing numerous premium matchas from across Japan, we selected our supplier based on their unmatched quality, exceptional taste, and potent effects.
Selective Harvesting: Only the top four leaves of the first eight that sprout by the twentieth day of shading in spring are handpicked. These tender leaves contribute to an exceptionally creamy and smooth matcha with a thick foam.
High L-Theanine Content: By allowing tea plants to mature for five years before harvesting—two years longer than standard practice— the roots absorb more nutrients. This results in an L-Theanine content as high as 4,000 mg per 100 grams, promoting relaxation and a balanced flavor profile.
Rigorous Safety Testing: All raw materials undergo testing for pesticides, radiation, and heavy metals at Eurofins Scientific, ensuring the matcha is free from contaminants.
SCIENCE & FUNCTION:
L-Theanine for focus
L-Theanine for focus
L-Theanine is an amino acid that is especially abundant in matcha. L-Theanine promotes relaxation without drowsiness. Research indicates that when L-Theanine, and caffeine are combined they cam improve cognitive performance and increase alertness.

Caffeine for energy
Caffeine for energy
Matcha has about 70g of caffeine which can enhance athletic performance by improving concentration, reducing the perception of effort, and increasing endurance. The caffeine content in matcha is significant and generally provides a more sustained release of energy without the common 'crash' associated with coffee.
Additionally, a study in the American Journal of Physiology found that green tea extract increased the endurance capacity of mice by 8-24% through enhanced metabolization of fat.
EGCG for recovery
EGCG for recovery
Matcha contains 300% more protective antioxidants than normal green tea such as Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG can help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. This can mean improved muscle recovery and reduced muscle damage after intense physical activity. Studies suggest that catechins may enhance endurance capacity and fat oxidation, which are crucial for athletes in endurance sports.

WHAT MAKES KAZE MATCHA BETTER?
-
🌱 Mature Tea Plants:
Our matcha comes from tea plants that are harvested after 5 years (2 years longer than usual) for maximum nutrient absorption and higher L-theanine/caffeine content.
-
🌱 Shade Grown:
Shading the plants for 20-30 days before harvest boosts chlorophyll (that vibrant green!) and further increases L-theanine and caffeine.
-
🌱 Youngest Leaves:
Only the most tender leaves are selected, ensuring peak flavor, texture, and nutrient levels.

Origin Spotlight: Kagoshima, Japan
Kagoshima, located in southern Japan, is one of Japan’s most significant tea-producing regions. Its unique combination of rich volcanic soil, misty mornings and warm days creates ideal conditions for cultivating tea, contributing to the smoothness and sweetness of the matcha produced there.

Our Partner Tea Farm
Our tea comes from a single organic tea farm that is family owned and operated in Kagoshima, Japan. It provides the highest quality matcha that is available on the market today.

High Elevation
At 500 meters above sea level, the farm rests in a climate of extremes—warm days and cool nights, a contrast that deepens flavor and character of the tea.

The Magic of Mist
With the high elevation, sudden changes in air pressure form a soft mist that rolls over the fields, shielding the leaves from harsh sun. This natural shading preserves L-theanine and amino acids, giving the matcha its signature sweetness and calm energy.

Mineral Rich Spring Water
Fed by mineral-rich spring water drawn from deep within the mountains, the farm is sustained by reservoirs that hold this natural gift.
